Cost of Study in the UK
There are two levels of UK tuition fees at publicly funded universities: home student fees (including EU students) and international student fees.
For home students, institutions in England and Wales can charge a maximum of £ 9,000 a year for a bachelor’s degree; in Northern Ireland up to £ 3,575 a year; and in Scotland, a master’s degree is free of charge for students from Scotland or the EU.
This is thanks to a subsidy from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). SAAS also offers tuition loans of up to £ 3,400 for postgraduate students.
For international students , degree fees for 2013-14 start at £ 7,450 for a lecture-based course, up to £ 36,600 for a master’s medical degree at the top of the price range.
But many international master’s fees are about £ 10,000 – no more than that for home students. For postgraduate courses, the majority of international fees for 2013-14 are between £ 10,000 and £ 12,000.
Cost of Living in the UK
The cost of living in the UK is estimated at £ 1000 to £ 1500 a month to cover the cost of accommodation, food, books, travel, etc.
